Ybor City is where many Cuban, Spanish and Italian immigrants worked and settled. For half a century, Ybor City was the "Cigar Capital of the World".
Today Ybor City is Tampa's Latin Quarter. The entertainment district has more than 60 restaurants, bars and night clubs and draws up to 30,000 people on weekend nights. You can't visit Ybor without visiting some of the fantastic restaurants in the area. You can eat anything from Creole to Cuban. The most widely known is the Columbia Restaurant which has been in business since 1905.
Ybor's history is still very much alive in both it's commercial and residential areas. Many of the old cigar factories have been converted and are in use today. With close proximity to downtown Tampa, many of the older homes have been renovated and are much sought after. Whether you're looking for nightlife, dining, shopping or convenience, Ybor City has it all.
